Throwaway Pet Hats

I have been experimenting with a throwaway pet hat.

With Flaps

It's made from wool. It is partially wet felted and then needle felted.  It is very time consuming to make.

Hat Number 2

But I think they look super cute on my big headed dolly friends.

Teddy

This past week I have been working on a few custom blythe dolls.

This is Teddy.

I named her Teddy because she has special Teddy bear eyechips.

Her special resin chips

Here she is dreaming on some frosty pumpkins.

Winter Pumpkins

I think she is dreaming of where she will end up living.

My Record Player

Remember how I was whining about wanting a record player. I ended up getting this little gem. It is a bright orange vintage Penncrest. I was a little nervous buying an vintage record player. I wasn't sure about the sound quality. But it turned out great. It plays really well.

We have had so much fun with it. It was great finally listening to all the records I have been collecting. Tonight we danced the night away...just listening to them all. It was splendid.

Ice Marbles

So it has been very very very cold in our neck of woods. Well below zero. Sometimes it's not fun being stuck in the house all day.

So, the girls and I decided to make some ice marbles.

(Sorry for the horrible blown out image)

So basically you get some balloons. Fill them with food coloring and water. Set them outside. Let them freeze. Break off the balloon. And you are left with ice marbles!

They made for great decoration outside and the girls enjoyed making them.

See...winter isn't so bad.

Facebooking it up!

I'm Facebook official. I now have a facebook page for my custom dolls.

I have been getting a lot of messages on my Flickr about my pets and custom dolls. I do not want to be contacted through Flickr for fear of being kicked off the site. Flickr is a photo sharing site only and cannot be used for business purposes. I have tried my best to make my profile on Flickr as clear as possible on how to contact me.

I will no longer be announcing shop updates on my Flickr stream. (Though I will be uploading photos around the same time, as well as this blog.) Instead, I will add a link to the item on my Facebook page. Plus it gives me a spot to chat with all my dolly friends online. I think I will do a giveaway every now an then too.

So if you want to stay in the loop for all things Pixiepoo. Please "like" my page on facebook.

All Framed

I was so excited to get my Mab Graves portrait framed and on the wall. I just had to take a picture.

All framed!

It is now proudly displayed on our family wall.

Looking at it every day brings a smile to my face.

-The Story of Throwaway Pets-

Once there was a Blythe Doll that had a horrific eye surgery. The colored chips were taken from her eyes, and were replaced with newer shinier colored chips. Time passed, and the Blythe doll found some of her old chips thrown away in the trash. The chips reminded her of the horrible surgery and she began to cry. Some of her tears fell upon the thrown away chips- and thus- a Throw Away Pet was born.

A Portrait

This is a portrait of my girls and I by Mab Graves. I just got it today. It is so breathtaking to look at.

A portrait

Nothing is quite as awesome as seeing yourself and your babies through Mab's eyes.

Mab a tear has come to my eye. It is such a beautiful work of art that will hang proudly on our wall. I so cherish this. Thank you so much! ♥

I want a Record Player...really bad!

So I have a strange habit of collecting records mainly because I really like record album art. But I don't have a actual record player to play my records on.

Now that is just silly.

I have been digging the look of these Crosley record players.

I also like that the speakers are built in even though I am sure they are not the best speakers in the world.

Awww, they are just so cute. I should just bite the bullet and get one.

Molly

Molly is my second attempt at making a chocolate custom doll. The first one was kind of a disaster.

Molly used to be this.

I transformed her into this.

* GASP *

I tried a new carving technique with her lips.

Her hair

I love her beautiful full bouncy curls

Miss Molly

She has cute little moles and dimples too. You can barely see them in this photo but they are there.

The 3 "M" girls

My other dollies wanted her to be their sister. But she wanted to travel and has found a new home in Philly.

Little Rainbows

In the mornings the light shines through our front door causing little rainbows in the living room while the girls watch their shows.

Thought it would be fun to take some artsy photos of their rainbow faces.

Neon Ghost in the Snow.

This is my newest doll. Over christmas I decided I want to simplify my blythe doll collection so I am currently trying to adopt her out.

Neon Ghost in the Snow

Back from the Spa

Neon Ghost

She was customized by Milky Robot/ Jess. She does amazing work.

She Glows

Sweet Neon Darling

She makes her own light.

The green neon hair against her pink make-up really is a wonderful combination.

I hope she finds a wonderful new home soon.
